    웰니스 메가 트렌드 보여줄 '대한민국 웰니스위크(WELLI-WEEK 2021)' 전시회 개막
    최신 건강 트렌드인 웰니스를 담은 전시회, ‘제1회 대한민국 웰니스 위크(WELLI-WEEK 2021)’가 ‘건강과 힐링 그리고 잠시 멈춤’ 이라는 주제로 27일(금)~29일(일)까지 3일 간 대구 EXCO 제2전시장에서 개최된다. 웰니스는 웰빙(Well-being), 행복(Happiness), 피트니스(Fitness)가 결합된 신조어로 신체적, 정신적,사회적, 영적 건강의 조화를 추구하는 활동이다. 웰니스 산업의 경우 약 6.0%의 성장률을 보이고 있고, 전 세계적으로 새로운 건강 트렌드로 자리잡고 있으며, 특히 웰니스 관광산업 분야는 연 7.5%의 가파른 성장세를 보이고 있다. 이번 전시회가 개최되는 대구 지역은 메디시티의 설립으로 일찍부터 웰니스 산업의 중심지로 발돋움했으며 2017년 기준 문체부 선정 웰니스 관광 25선에 하늘호수(대구 동성로), 리조트 스파벨리(대구 가창)가 선정되는 등 웰니스 산업과 관련이 깊은 도시다. 전시회 사무국에서는 피트니스기구, 생활운동용품, 힐링용품 등 웰니스 라이프 관련 제품과 더불어 2021 대구스포츠레저산업주간과 동시개최로 건강, 캠핑, 낚시, 골프 등 다양한 볼거리를 선보여 트렌드를 이끄는 문화들을 한 눈에 볼 수 있다. 또 웰니스 업체 중 ‘로맨시브’는 테크 기반 푸드 스타트업 기업으로 안전하고 수면에 도움을 주며, 맞춤 수면 솔루션을 제공한다. 아직 정식 제품은 출시되기 전이며 현장 프로모션으로 선착순 600명에세 시제품을 무료로 제공한다. 전시회 입장료는 3,000원이며 사전등록시 무료입장이 가능하다. 본 전시회의 참가 및 관람 안내 등 기타 자세한 사항은 WELLI-WEEK 2021 공식 홈페이지www.wellifair.co.kr에서 확인할 수 있다.

  • 비만 밀착 관리하는 ‘헬스 다이어트 다이어리’ 배포...대한비만학회
    대한비만학회의 ‘헬스 다이어트 다이어리’는 환자들이 ▲ 하루에 섭취한 음식의 종류와 양, ▲ 운동 여부 및 강도와 시간 ▲ 약제 복용 여부, ▲ 당일 체중 등을 매일 기록할 수 있도록 구성됐다. 대한비만학회(회장 강재헌, 이사장 이창범)가 비만 환자들의 일상 속 생활습관 관리를 돕기 위한 ‘헬스 다이어트 다이어리(Health Diet Diary)’를 배포한다고 26일 밝혔다. ‘헬스 다이어트 다이어리’는 코로나19로 인해 자가 관리에 어려움을 느끼는 비만 환자들의 식사, 운동 및 약제 복용 등 생활습관 관리를 돕기 위해 제작됐다. 최근 대한비만학회가 발표한 ‘코로나19 시대 국민 체중 관리 현황 및 비만 인식 조사’에 따르면, 코로나19의 영향으로 생활습관 관리가 어려워지면서 응답자 10명 중 4명이 코로나19 이전 대비 체중이 3kg 이상 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 비만의 주원인은 과도한 음식 섭취로 인한 칼로리 과잉과 상대적인 활동량 감소로 인한 에너지 소모량 감소인 만큼, 식사 조절 및 운동은 효과적인 비만 치료 및 예방법 중 하나이다. 실제 학회 조사에서도 코로나19 이후 체중 유지 또는 감소했다고 답한 응답자는 식이 조절(29%)과 규칙적인 운동(28%)이 주요인이었다고 답했다. 이 다이어리는 환자들이 ▲하루에 섭취한 음식의 종류와 양, ▲운동 여부 및 강도와 시간, ▲약제 복용 여부, ▲당일 체중 등을 매일 기록할 수 있도록 구성됐다. 환자들은 본인의 식사량 및 운동량을 직접 기록해 스스로 생활습관을 관리함으로써 신체적 변화를 경험할 수 있다. 또한 ‘대한비만학회 비만진료지침 2020’에 소개된 △올바른 치료 목표 설정 방법, △식사 조절 방법, △에너지 섭취를 줄이기 위한 조리법 등이 수록돼 환자들이 비만 관리에 필요한 상식도 얻을 수 있다. 대한비만학회는 7월 내 회원 병원 포함 전국 50여 개 의료 기관에 다이어리 총 5만부를 무료로 제공할 예정이다. 또한 다이어리 사용을 원하는 사람은 누구나 신청해 수령할 수 있도록 학회 홈페이지(https://www.kosso.or.kr)를 통해 다이어리 신청을 접수 받아 선착순 1,000명에게 무료 배포한다. 이를 통해 비만 환자들은 체중을 감량하는 생활 방식을 습득하고 의료진은 다이어리를 참고해 보다 세밀한 치료 목표, 전략 및 프로그램을 수립함으로써 효과적인 비만 치료를 지원한다는 계획이다. 이창범 대한비만학회 이사장은 “평소 식사 및 운동 일지를 작성하는 것은 환자 스스로가 건강한 생활습관을 기르는 데에 유용한 치료법이다. 경도 비만 환자뿐 아니라, 약물 및 수술치료가 필요한 환자의 경우에도 이러한 생활습관 관리는 반드시 병행돼야 효과적”이라며, “이번 ‘헬스 다이어트 다이어리’를 활용해 보다 많은 비만 환자들이 막막하게 느끼는 자가 관리법을 익히고 하루속히 건강을 되찾을 수 있기를 기대한다”고 전했다.

  • Reversal of Aging of Human Cartilage, Restoring Youthfulness; the First of Its Kind Feat by Edogawa Hospital, Japan
    Cartilage of the knee joint, when severely damaged by age related wear and tear or injury or osteoarthritis, which is removed and usually discarded, during joint replacement surgery, now could be rejuvenated, becoming a potential source of cells for cell therapy through a disruptive technology that reverses aging, confirmed by Senescence associated ß-Galactosidase, p16 and p21, markers, published in Scientific Reports (www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-93607-9), a Nature journal. A conversation between (Late) Prof. Masatoshi Koshiba, (Nobel Laureate, 2002) and Dr. Masahiro Katoh on whether his aging joints could be rejuvenated, inspired orthopedician Dr Shojiro Katoh to develop a path breaking EELS-TALC technique (Enriched with Essentials and Lapped in Scaffold, Transplant-suitable Autologous Leveraged Chondrocytes), making this accomplishment. Aging of human body, its organs, tissues and cells is irreversible and in the lab environments, aging is much faster than inside the body. However, EELS-TALC technology has disrupted this conventional belief by making tissues younger, through tissue engineering in a chemically synthesized polymer scaffold, under physical maneuver of orbital shaking in the lab, without genetic manipulation or animal derived products, thus paving way to solutions that, when similar environment is made available inside the body, such reversal of aging might be possible.
